Mary Jones - Rider & Trainer at Chauvet Farms
Chauvet Farms is proud to have Mary Jones, a talented show jumper and trainer, leading our program. With her passion and expertise, Mary guides both horses and riders on their journey to success.
Mary began her equestrian career young, winning the Spruce Meadows Y2 Junior Rider Award and scholarship at the age of 13, presented by Bretton and Kara Chad. She later became the youngest recipient of the coveted Xerox Junior Rider of the Year Award at Spruce Meadows, an honour given to athletes 18 years or younger from any Nation who accumulates the most scholarship points in the 1.40m division events throughout the Spruce Meadows Summer Series and 'Masters' tournament. Mary represented Canada twice in the Junior Nations Cup events held annually at Thunderbird Showpark, riding both times in the anchor position aboard her Holsteiner gelding, Cartoon, and contributing to a Gold Medal victory for Team Canada. Her success extended into U25 and Grand Prix events at "A" circuit shows aboard her Zangersheide mare, Oceane Z, and she was named twice to the Canadian Team for theNorth American Youth Championships (NAYC), held annually in Saugerties, NY.
Mary took a step back from international competition to focus on developing young horses while completing her Honours BSc in Mathematics and Economics at the University of Toronto. In 2024, she returned to Vancouver to further pursue her equestrian career as a rider, competitor, trainer and coach.
Mary's experience and dedication are invaluable to Chauvet Farms, where she draws on her successful international training and competition background to help horses and riders excel at all levels.
